Photographic Thank You Note

One lovely aspect of having babies are the gifts from friends and family. I try to make sure to send a timely thank you note. However, if the gift is clothing (especially with child #2 and gender opposite) and a bit too big, the sender never really knows if the gift is a hit. So, here is a photographic thank you note to dear family friends, Kate & Rodger, who have excellent taste. G's coat in picture #1 and outfit in picture #2 were from them, many moons ago. It finally fits and makes our princess look even cuter. Today, not only did we get Moms who mentioned the lovely coat when we dropped off B at school, but lots of B's female classmates (ages 3-4) were expressing their love for her beautiful coat. So, Thank You!!

Long Time No Post

Sorry for the blog silence. T is working like mad, so I have fewer moments to sit at the laptop. I can try with B & G underfoot, but mostly I have to tell them that, "No, you can't sit on my lap...look at pictures...play a game...type a few letters..." You get the point.

While away, not much has happened. Several head colds. Multiple words added to G's vocabulary. Feats of daring by G as well - standing on top of her chair, crawling on top of tables, attempting to crawl out of the pack-n-play, attempting to crawl over the gate at the top of our stairs. (I am sensing a theme...) I am worried about many things related to this daring little girl...I fear a few ER trips in our future. B was not a climber and is more likely to fear something new than try it, so this is really new territory for us.

It is more difficult to get G to sit still for a photo, so we enlisted B's help, because she has entered the phase of wanting to do whatever B does, regardless of what it is.

G is officially 17 months - weighing 27 lbs. B will be 4 in a month and weighs 32 lbs. soaking wet. We keep telling him to be nice to her (knowing that in a less than a year, she'll be able to topple him!)

Here B poses in his Easter outfit. We got matching outfits to have a formal portrait taken. Since we would like to put money in our kids college fund, we decided not to order any of the portraits. (They really thought we'd be willing to pay over $12,000 for 5 framed portraits. No joke.) I'll post more photos after Easter.

Now just more photos of the kids looking cute. G has started to choose to wear hats and headbands. Mom loves the low maintenance aspect of this new obsession.

New Found Friend

As a happy coincidence, one of my sorority sisters came up from the Bay Area this weekend with her son, M. He's 2 1/2 and a sweet little man. G thought he was greater than sliced bread. I joked that G & M would always have a prom date! B was jealous that someone was in his house, playing with his sister, getting attention, etc. But other than really annoying his parents, he was ok and we all had fun. And we had, yes, for real, SNOW again.

You've Gotta Have Friends...

This past weekend, I hosted an impromptu reunion with my sorority pledge class, plus a few little sisters. We chatted for hours and realized that most of us haven't really changed, we've just changed the scenery. Take away the sorority house, boyfriend drama and worries about finals. Add lots of careers, husbands, kids and mortgages. No one surprised me with their place in life, except for the fact that we are all so similar...still.

Child of the Sea

T came to watch G's swim class on Friday morning. For a baby born in a desert, she sure acts like a fish! She LOVES it. She also LOVED having an audience and kept smiling and waving to her fan(s).

Yelling, "Hi, DahhDahh!"

She likes the arm floaties because they look like her favorite character Mickey Mouse. I feel better now that instead of just calling Mickey Mouse "Mawwwwmee" she now says, "Mawwmee Mowwwse".

From Day 1 in class, she has been at ease in the water, especially on her back. I am barely helping her float.

If she was willing, this is the point where she got to jump into my arms. Well, she'd stand there, then sit down, then hop in. Close.

A final wave goodbye to Daddy.
