Just Five Years Ago...

we were granted membership into the coolest club. We'd heard lots of others bragging about it, but just didn't understand until that night. How could such a tiny little person, all 3 pounds 13 ounces of him, turn our world so upside down, but at the same time, make everything feel so much bigger, better and brighter than before?

His entrance was grand. His personality and charm even more so. He continues to keep us on our toes with his charming wit and ever-expanding intellect.

Happy Birthday, Beautiful B!!

With two back-to-back beautiful days, the setting was perfect for a trip to our local tulip fields.

Time Flies...Two Years in Photos

Two years ago, we stepped off a plane and our family was complete. It has been lovely and challenging, exciting and emotional. There are days when the bickering is non-stop, but most days, the sibling joy is much greater than I ever dreamed it could be. When I look back and see the terrified look on G's face in those early days, I realize that I wasn't the only one going through a big adjustment. She came home a tiny scared baby. She has GROWN into a healthy, happy, beautiful and intelligent girl. B is a fantastic big brother who includes her more than excludes her, freely sharing hugs and kisses every day. I want to write more about the last two years, but I am having trouble putting my thoughts into words. For now, you'll have to settle for photos.

I feel like I am cheating...

I am blessed to have a friend who is raising chickens so she and her girls can enjoy fresh eggs. She has shared the wealth and I am forever grateful. Well, I wanted to dye eggs this year (first time for the kids) and I didn't want to use our wonderful organic cage-free delicious eggs because even though they will be boiled, I am not sure how much time they will spend out of the fridge being played with on Sunday. So, the likelihood of the dyed eggs being consumed is pretty low. So, I bought eggs. I bought white non-organic eggs. (GASP! THE HORROR!!)

G thought this whole process was beneath her (or she got tired of Mama saying she had to wait while Mama took some photos).

B thought it was really fun, but he was able to get closer to the dye.

Blue egg, blue shirt, blue eyes

I guess it wasn't a total bust.
