G began going to preschool this week. She was more than ready, as evidenced by the fact that whenever she helped me drop off her brother at school, she didn't want to leave the classroom or building. As well as the fact that when we would arrive early to pick him up, she'd join right in and sit with the other kids to listen to show-and-tell or story time.
It came as no surprise that she didn't even blink when I dropped her off the first day. Just a hug, kiss and, "Bye-bye, Mommy." While B still gets a little choked up when I drop him off, G doesn't look back!
Today at school, the kids had a special visitor, "Reptile Man". From B's description, he brought turtles, tortoises, lizard, snakes, etc. One snake is large enough that several students got to help hold it (though not B, who would prefer to watch from a distance rather than touch anything). B explained that many of the reptiles were dangerous. It should also come as no surprise that G was more than happy to step up and say hello...
To an A-L-L-I-G-A-T-O-R!
I know she likes dogs and cats, but an alligator! She was able to tell me after school, as she was getting ready for her nap, that the alligator touched her on the head and she gave it a "high-five". Anyone else feeling a bit nervous about what our future may hold?????

That photo of G petting an alligator gave me a little shiver. What a fearless (and cute, and smart and generally awesome) girl!
