Cousin Craziness

Last weekend, B, G and I went to visit Cousin A and her parents. It was loud and crazy but the kids had a blast. Auntie Doc even got to remove B's stitches. I'd make a sarcastic remark about her old lady glasses but that wouldn't be nice. ;-)!

It was only a matter of time...

We had our first kid-related ER trip yesterday. B & G were playing while T & I cleaned up in the kitchen after dinner. Then we hear the blood curdling screams from B. T got there first and says, "Oh, no." I take a quick look and run for towels to sop up the blood. We do a quick assessment and get into the car. Apparently, the bed frame jumped up and took a chunk out of B's forehead. That or he tripped and fell into it. Either way, deep gash = stitches.

I've attached photos. Warning - there is blood. Worst one is toward the end and I will warn you again...

Seriously, the kid was so calm.
We all decided to joke around while he got it cleaned.
Yes, he's laughing during the cleaning.

All sewn up and still smiling.

WARNING - GROSS PHOTO COMING. STOP NOW IF YOU DON'T LIKE BLOOD (OR DEEP GASHES TO THE FOREHEAD).

Adorable...(I am not biased or anything)

We were helping celebrate Little L's 2nd Birthday. She was so cute telling all of us that she is now "Twoooooo". Photo credit goes to her amazing Mama. Thanks, K, for sharing these photos.

Nothing Says Summer Like A Little Tee Ball

I spent much of my summers growing up hanging out around ball parks. My sisters and I all played softball and my Dad was a coach, manager and an umpire (still likes to umpire). There were practices (2 or so each week) as well as games (2+ each week). Before I was old enough to play on a team (we had to be 8 to start WAY back then), I would attend my sisters' games and practices and typically played with the other siblings who also were too young to play.

Well, I wasn't quite ready to invest that much time in one activity for B, so I got very excited when I found out that our local parks and rec center has a tee ball program for kids ages 4-6. It lasts 5 weeks. 1 hour per week. 30 minutes of practice, then 30 minutes of scrimmage. Now that is a perfect amount of tee ball. 5 hours. TOTAL. B loved it. We thought it was adorable to watch. G loved playing with the other siblings on the nearby playground. I hope B thinks of his tee ball time as fondly as I remember mine.

Happy Teeth

Here are B & G smiling away at their dental appointment this morning. They love both the Dentist and her office staff. Helps that there are movies playing above their heads, a space ship that takes their dental x-rays and prizes for good behavior. Also helps that they can snuggle together in the chair if it makes them happy, which it does.

Family Vacation - Water Addition

These photos are a month old. I have been a major blog slacker. My apologies. We took the kids to a local water park/hotel for the 4th of July. Neither of them like fireworks and our local weather was still pretty cold and wet, so the idea of a constant 84 degree water park experience was very appealing. The kids LOVED it. T and I didn't hate it. I think we'll plan to go back once G is potty trained and B is tall enough to enjoy the largest water slides. The area for the little tikes was very entertaining - with their own slides and pretend jet skis.
